Personal data and cookies

This site sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics tool. To learn which pages and which demos interest visitors, it records anonymous audience statistics on its own server: the page viewed and how long it stayed on screen, the tile opened, the filter used or the external link clicked, the date, the site you came from (its domain name only), and the country and region matching the IP address (the city is never recorded). The country and region are worked out on the server itself, using the IP Geolocation by DB-IP database (CC BY 4.0 licence), without calling any outside service.

A visitor is counted through a fingerprint computed from the IP address and the browser, mixed with a secret key that is renewed every day and then destroyed: neither the IP address nor the browser is kept, and a visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next. Journeys through the site are only ever looked at as totals, never visitor by visitor. These statistics are used only to measure the site's audience, are shared with no one and are deleted after 13 months. If your browser sends the "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, nothing is recorded. This audience measurement is designed to meet the conditions under which the CNIL (the French data protection authority) exempts it from consent.

The server's technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) are kept for the security and proper working of the site, then deleted. If a page runs into an error in your browser, the error message, the page concerned and the type of browser (Firefox, Safari...) are sent to these same logs so it can be fixed, with no data about you.

Files you load into the demos (CSV tables, for example) are processed in your browser or for the duration of the request, and are not kept.
